Hurtigruten has entered the Guinness Book of Records after a live TV documentary filmed on board a Hurtigruten ship sailing from Bergen to Kirkenes was confirmed as the world's longest live TV documentary. A total of 148 countries around the world tuned in either via TV, the live stream on the internet or via embedded players to watch the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation’s (NRK) 134-hour non-stop live coverage of the voyage. Hurtigruten launches marathon broadcast

Hurtigruten has linked up with Norwegian TV to broadcast 134 hours of live, non-stop TV following one of the fleet's journey along the Norwegian Coast. The Norwegian Broadcasting Company will use nine cameras to capture every one of the 8,040 minutes on board MS Nordnorge on its journey from Bergen to Kirkenes. We made the plane in Tromso with minutes to spare, taking off in a snowstorm that in the UK would probably have shut an airport. Above the clouds it was sunny and as we headed towards Kirkenes, our final stop on this Arctic adventure, the clouds and the snow gradually disappeared allowing us to glimpse a beautiful white landscape below, interspersed with the clearest blue lakes.
