Strikes delay Oceania Cruises’ new Riviera

The maiden voyage of Oceania Cruises’s new ship, Riviera, has been delayed to due construction delays caused by strikes at the shipyard near Genoa. The 1,250-guest ship’s first sailing will be rescheduled for 16 May. A new survey by the Passenger Shipping Association has been published to mark National Cruise Week (18-25 September). The survey reveals New York has come out on top as favourite cruise port, almost one in five British adults (19%) named New York beating previous winner Venice which only got 13% of the vote.
