Island residents urged to vote in the Cruise International Awards

The RMS St Helena approaching St Helena

The Cruise International Awards have made it into the local newspaper of one of the most isolated islands in the world – the British overseas territory of St Helena.

The St Helena Independent has run a “Tourism Newsflash” on page 17 of the newspaper encouraging the 4,255 inhabitants to vote in the awards in which the island has been shortlisted as a ‘Hidden Gem’.

So far almost 5,000 people have entered the awards casting more than 60,000 votes across 20 categories including Coolest Cruise Captain, Best Innovation and Most Outstanding Ship.

The newspaper writes:

“The more we can spread the message, the better chance we have of winning, so please start voting and sharing the links.”

The island, a tiny speck in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, is one of the most isolated places on earth and can only be visited by ship, the RMS St Helena.

Cast your vote in the Cruise International Awards here and you could be in with a chance to win an MSC Cruise to the Med.

About Adam Coulter
Adam Coulter was a bit of a cruise novice when he took over the captaincy of Cruise International in 2010. In the past year and a half he's jumped right in, clocking up seven cruises in a year and a half plus a visit to the Panama Canal. When he's not on board a ship he likes nothing more than jumping off to do a spot of scuba diving, preferably in the warm waters of the Caribbean.
