Compagnie du Ponant L’Austral CRUISE LAUNCH 26th April

L'Austral

At the end of April, Compagnie du Ponant is launching its latest megayacht, L’Austral, a sister ship to Le Boréal which was launched in 2010.

The ship will have 132 cabins and, like Le Boréal, a strong emphasis on sleek design, both in her shape, and the interior decor.

It has her sister ship’s hallmark of large arched windows that open up to the sea and let in lots of light. The aim is to give cabins the feel of a private yacht, albeit a huge one.
Features on board the L’Austral
There will be two restaurants where, as you might expect, the cuisine is French and of the highest standards.
The Gastronomic Restaurant, seating 268 guests, is situated on Le Liberté Deck and serves French and international cuisine and fine wines.
The Grill Restaurant has outside seating, serving buffet lunch and themed dinners.
Facilities also include a theatre, games area with Wii consoles, a library and internet corner, lounges for lectures, and shows.
There is also a gym with a Kinesis Wall and running machine, plus a gym. The spa uses the Carita brand, which includes beauty treatments, a hairdresser, hammam and balneotherapy.
Nearly all the cabins have a private balcony, and some are available for families, either as triples or connecting cabins. There are also children’s menus, and a baby-sitting service.
L’Austral Maiden Voyage

The L’Austral sails on the 26th April
In her first season, L’Austral will sail along the Dalmatian Coast, to the Greek Islands and in the Western Med.
Like the rest of the fleet, she will offer ports inaccessible to large ships.
