The SS Misr was originally constructed in Preston by the Royal Navy in 1918, later purchased and converted into a luxury Nile steamer for King Farouk. She is recorded as the venue for the King’s birthday celebrations. Now fully restored to a 5-star deluxe propeller steam vessel, the SS Misr accommodates just 45 passengers in spacious, air-conditioned cabins and suites and there is a crew of 63 to ensure the highest level of service. Misr means ‘the Kingdom of Egypt’ and the décor reflects the fashion of the period, each cabin with its own individual style.

Double suite

All cabins and suites have a private balcony, en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, mini-bar and television. The suites on the Upper deck are 50% larger in size than the standard cabins. The two Panorama suites at the front of the vessel offer impressive panoramic views. The Marasem Restaurant, Saraya Lounge and Dahabia Bar are located on the higher decks offering wonderful views of the Nile. The period-style restaurant accommodates all guests at one sitting. There is also a lower sun deck with comfortable wicker chairs and an upper sun deck with a pool and sun beds for relaxation.
